On the coast There are many good beaches for relaxing on - some of the best are close by at Burton Bradstock with its golden cliffs, ice cream parlour and café. Charmouth is popular particularly for fossil hunting and finding sealife in rock pools. At Lyme Regis, you can lie on the beach and watch the boats enter the harbour at the Cobb. Or go to Weymouth to enjoy golden sands, watersports and a gently shelving beach in a sheltered bay. Studland, with its fine sandy beaches, is a little further away to the East and is well worth the trip. Boat trips take you along the scenic coast as far as Poole or Dartmouth. |
